Academic Travels

Sophomore Trip

Each spring the sophomore class takes an overnight trip to DFW where they visit Art and History Museums and/or a live symphonic or Broadway-like performance. The sophomore trip is a time for learning, adventure, and fun and is for sophomores in good standing.

Junior American History Trip

MCA sponsors a 10-day American History Trip for the rising seniors each May at the beginning of summer break. The trip is an extension of school and is designed to enhance the American History class that the students completed their junior year. The trip also seeks to promote unity in the senior class and to reward students in good standing for their hard work. The trip visits Boston, Plymouth, New York City, Philadelphia, Gettysburg, Monticello, and Washington, D.C.

Senior Anatomy Trip

Our senior Anatomy Class often takes a trip each spring to tour the Texas Tech Gross Anatomy Lab and visit the Health Sciences Department. Students get to experience gross anatomy first-hand and learn about the Health Science programs and courses offered by Texas Tech University.

Senior Astronomy Trip to McDonald Observatory

Seniors enrolled in the astronomy elective can take part in a weekend camping trip to the Davis Mountains. The group tours the McDonald Observatory and takes part in the nighttime star party. The group camps at the state park and enjoys time outside together.
