Admissions Procedures
Midland Classical Academy uses an admissions process found at many other private schools and colleges. Our goal is to accurately identify and admit students from families who have aligned themselves with the school’s goals and policies regarding the education of children. A student’s academic achievements will be considered in the application process, of course, but a student’s character and family priorities will also weigh heavily in determining acceptance.
The process for new applicants is as follows:
January 1 – May 15
Applications and policy handbooks will be distributed to interested families and completed applications will be collected. Placement testing, interviews, and relevant documentation for each new student will be evaluated as applications are received. A $135.00 New Student Application Fee is due at this time.
March 1 – May 15
Notification of acceptance or denial will be mailed to each applicant. Accepted applicants will receive all appropriate information for preparing for school, including financial arrangements. Your first tuition payment (1/10th of tuition) is due upon acceptance.
After May 15 (or after all notifications have been mailed)
Applications will be considered as they are received and as space permits.
As a rule we do not accept new students after October 15th because of the unique model we implement at MCAG. The adjustments to the student are typically too difficult after the first six weeks of school. The adjustments in family life, study habits, and the fact that the student must adjust to two new teachers are much more difficult than most new families to MCAG can grasp. We do reserve the right to consider applications individually after October 15th, but applicants must be aware that it would be an anomaly to accept a student after this date and application fees are nonrefundable.
