Graduation Plans

MCA offers three ways for students to be enrolled as a student at MCA: As a Full-Time student on the Classical Graduation Plan or the Foundational Graduation Plan, or as a Part Time student. All 7th and 8th grade students are enrolled either as a Full-Time Classical student or a Part-Time student. There is no Foundational option for Junior High students.

All incoming 9th graders are required to declare themselves as a Classical student or a Part Time student. If any currently enrolled High School Student at MCA wishes to change from the Classical Graduation Plan to the Foundational Graduation Plan, he/she must meet the requirements outlined under the Foundational Graduation Plan Policy for consideration. Acceptance is dependent upon Dean approval.

Classical Graduation Plan

Students enrolled in the Classical Graduation Plan are enrolled in all six of their available high school classes and will receive a Classical Graduation Diploma upon the completion of the required 28 credits.

Classical students are eligible to participate in MCA sponsored extracurricular activities, RT groups, High School Retreat, and American History Trip. Classical students may apply to be an RT leader and Senior Assistant. Participation and acceptance in all activities are dependent on meeting the academic and character requirements outlined for the activity.

A Classical student may apply for the Foundational Graduation Plan at the conclusion of the fall or spring semester of their 9th grade year. New student applicants entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grades may also apply for the Foundational Graduation Plan.

The Application, Student Letter, and Tutor Letters of Recommendation, along with Dean discretion of the student’s total body of involvement at MCA, are part of MCA’s evaluation on whether a student is a good candidate for the Foundational Graduation Plan.

Foundational students are eligible to participate in MCA sponsored extracurricular activities, RT groups, and High School Retreat.
